Has recently completed a feasibility study into community involvement in Devonport, Plymouth. The study focussed on the housing sector, and was undertaken on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Housing Association and Sovereign Housing Association. It employed a highly participative process, involving social housing providers, local community organisations and local residents (The Study with recommendations on the way forward and the results of the residents’ survey will shortly be available on this website); |

Managing the consultation on the West London Waste Plan. An extensive programme has been developed and is currently being delivered, including public workshops, a dedicated website, publicity material including a leaflet and poster, an online consultation questionnaire and a communications programme coordinated across the boroughs involved; and |

Managed the community and stakeholder involvement in the Masterplan for regeneration around the Millbay Docks, Plymouth. After the Masterplan was produced, he worked with the local community to produce a detailed action plan to ensure that they benefited from changes resulting from the regeneration process. The work included the formation of a community network , and a range of other engagement techniques including peer interviewing, discussion groups, workshops with targeted groups and field feedback©. |

Led the formative and summative evaluation of the Community Recycling and Economic Development (CRED) programme which provided £33 million and support to some 200 voluntary and community sector waste initiatives. The evaluation drew on a wide range of evidence, including primary data from phone interviews with sampled projects and a workshop with members of the Consortium which oversaw the Programme; |

Led the Sustainability Appraisal and SEA of the North Hertfordshire Core Strategy. Has also recently contributed to the SA/SEA of the Aylesbury and Lambeth Core Strategies and advised Darlington Borough Council on the SA/SEA of their Core Strategy; |

Led the review of Cynnal Cymru (the Welsh Sustainable Development Forum). The review considered the strategic role set out for Cynnal Cymru by the Welsh Assembly Government, its performance against objectives, the future funding of the organisation and the linkages with the wider sustainable development policy agenda in Wales. |
