Recent project examples

Sustainability and Climate Change:

Directing the Integrated Impact Assessment of the London Housing Strategy for the Greater London Authority, encompassing sustainability appraisal, health impact assessment, community safety assessment and equalities aspects on each draft of the London Housing Strategy; and

Working as deputy director of the three-year evaluation for Defra of the large scale Every Action Counts programme, on sustainable development behaviour change through the third sector.

Stakeholder Engagement and Urban Design:

Directing a wide-ranging research and engagement project for the GLA to explore the worship space needs of faith communities in London. Working with Diverse Ethics and LUC, the published research reports on our findings and conclusions from the research and engagement process with faith communities and planning authorities in relation to places of worship in London;

Directing a Faith Community Profile and Places of Worship Needs Assessment for Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, working in conjunction with Diverse Ethics and LUC. The work provided a comprehensive profile of the Borough's Faith Communities and a needs assessment in relation to places of worship and associated facilities; and

Designing and directing CAG’s work on consultation and communications aspects of the development of the South London Waste Plan for a consortium of south London boroughs. Findings from a number of community workshops were reported to the consortium in early 2009.

Regeneration:

Managing a project to research the performance of regeneration activity including neighbourhood renewal for the Audit Commission in Wales, by way of developing in-depth ‘holistic’ case studies of regeneration activity from international practice;

Managing the mid-term RACoL programme evaluation for Develop Lincolnshire, covering management processes, publicity, roles and responsibilities and impact on local communities and other key stakeholders, and co-developing, undertaking and reporting on the Final Evaluation in conjunction with Community Consultants; and

Completing a partnerships review for Cambridgeshire County Council, which used on-line methods for running a self-evaluation process but included an independent expert analysis of findings by CAG.
