Recent project examples

Climate Change and Sustainable Energy:

	Managing a review of area-based energy efficiency initiatives in Scotland, on behalf of Consumer Focus Scotland;
	Assisting with the development of a toolkit to enable Local Authorities to evaluate and improve their performance in delivering the sustainable energy agenda; and
	Reviewing the support provided to local government on climate change by national and regional bodies, on behalf of the IDeA.

Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation:

	Developing and delivering a diverse, large-scale community and stakeholder engagement programme for the preparation of the North London Waste Plan; and
	Delivering the stakeholder and community engagement programme for the development of Bedfordshire's Minerals and Waste Development Framework.

Sustainable Development:

	Researching the capability of local government and its partners to deliver sustainable development through LSP’s, LAA’s and Sustainable Community Strategies, on behalf of the Sustainable Development Commission; and
	Assessing the sustainability of the Bridging Newcastle Gateshead housing market renewal pathfinder, as part of the Sustainable Development Commission's in-depth review of the Sustainable Communities Plan.

Planning:

	Managing a renewable energy and sustainable construction study for Cherwell District Council and West Oxfordshire District Council, exploring the opportunities for renewable, low carbon and decentralised energy and the implications for planning policy in the two districts; and
	Developing and piloting a sustainable design and construction guide for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and, as part of the piloting, providing a programme of training for local planners, architects and developers.
