Community Consultants

Community Consultants is an independent research consultancy that specialises in undertaking consultation, evaluation and research exercises in support of public policy making.

Founded in 1985, our work has been primarily for local authorities and public agencies together with voluntary and community groups. We have researched a full range of policy issues from housing and the environment to financial exclusion and crime.

Clients commission research to bring knowledge rather than just information to their decision making. Through our experience of working in public organisations, we understand the contribution research can make to policy making.

In all our projects we seek to bring an added value:

• at the start, advising on which methodologies are appropriate to produce the strategic data required.
• at the end of a project, both interpreting the data and working with clients to ensure the results assist decision makers with strategic choices.

Working in both urban and rural areas, deprivation has been a common theme in many of our studies enabling us to develop a specialism in consulting with 'hard to reach' communities.
