Tim’s work includes:

  • researching the capability of local government and its partners to deliver sustainable development on behalf of the Sustainable Development Commission;
  • assisting with the development of a toolkit to enable local authorities to evaluate and improve their performance in delivering the sustainable energy agenda, on behalf of the IDeA;
  • assisting with the development of the Nottingham Declaration Action Pack, an online tool to enable local authorities to deliver their Nottingham Declaration commitments, on behalf of the Nottingham Declaration Partnership;
  • leading a major programme of community and stakeholder consultation on the North London Waste Plan, as part of a consultancy team led by Mouchel;
  • reviewing the support provided to local government on sustainable development by national and regional stakeholders, on behalf of the IDeA and the Sustainable Development Commission;
  • reviewing the support provided to local government on climate change by regional bodies and examining the potential implications of the sub-national review, on behalf of the IDeA;
  • leading CAG's contribution to the sustainability appraisal of the Bedfordshire & Luton Minerals and Waste Development Framework;
  • evaluating the beacon council's waste & recycling benchmark and toolkit on behalf of the IDeA;
  • assessing the sustainability of the Bridging NewcastleGateshead housing market renewal pathfinder, as part of the Sustainable Development Commission's in-depth review of the Sustainable Communities Plan;
  • jointly leading the sustainability appraisal of North Hertfordshire's Core Strategy;
  • developing and piloting a sustainable design and construction guide for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council;
  • reviewing sustainability indicators for use at the city-region level, on behalf of the Northern Way Sustainable Communities team; and
  • evaluating how far regional strategies in Yorkshire and Humber are mutually supportive/consistent, as part of the preparation of the new IRF, on behalf of the regional assembly.
    Prior to joining CAG Consultants, Tim was a Senior Regeneration Consultant at Urban Practitioners and prior to that worked within the economic development unit at Greenwich Council.
