CAG Consultants prepared a sustainable design and construction guide for Tameside MBC. We then assisted the Council in piloting its draft guide prior to its adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document.

This work included providing training for Tameside planners on how to respond to Sustainability Statements submitted with major planning applications; providing training for local developers and architects on the Sustainable Design and Construction Guide, with a particular focus on how to prepare a Sustainability Statement for submission with major planning applications; assisting planning applicants and developers to respond to the advice in the Sustainable Design and Construction Guide during the pilot period; and monitoring the impact on planning applications.
